Monika Herzig “Transparent” I (US-DE-MX)

MONIKA HERZIG "TRANSPARENT" I

Wednesday, October 14, 8 p.m. at Philly Joe's Jazz Club

Award-winning pianist, scholar, and composer Dr. Monika Herzig brings three decades of genre-bending jazz to Philly Joe's Jazz Club for one unforgettable night. Herzig arrives fresh off the release of “Transparent”, her 13th album as a leader — a bold, technicolor journey through the issues facing transgender individuals and their families, and a striking new chapter in an already storied career.

Vice Rector at Jam Music Lab University in Vienna and leader of the celebrated all-female ensemble Sheroes, Herzig is known for pairing virtuosic piano work with fearless, deeply human storytelling. Expect an evening of powerful original compositions and soulful interplay from one of modern jazz's most compelling voices.

Line-up:

Monika Herzig (US/DE) - piano

Peter Kienle (US/DE) - guitar

Bethany Robinson (US) - bass

Karina Colis (MX) - drums
