Damian de Muijnck Trio
Live music on Tuesday December 16 at 7:30 PM,
Tartu, Kompanii 2, 2nd floor
Dutch drummer Damian de Muijnck is playing a short series of trio shows in Estonia, joined by saxophonist Nikita Korzoun and bassist Lota-Loviisa Rohtla.
The trio focuses on open, dynamic interplay — exploring a mix of Damian’s own compositions and tunes that have inspired him over the years. The music moves between groove, space, and free improvisation, with plenty of room for each player to shape the sound in the moment.
These concerts are part of a release tour for Damian’s new standards album, recorded in two trio settings with Marios Charalampous, Zack Lober, and Bram van de Glind.
Damian is currently finishing his master’s at the Utrecht Conservatory, where he studies with Joost Kesselaar. Outside of school, he’s taken lessons with drummers like Kenny Washington and Mark Guiliana. Over the years, he has performed with artists including Seamus Blake, Kika Sprangers, Bert van den Brink, and Zack Lober, and is active in both the Dutch and international jazz scenes.
His playing is grounded in listening and connection — always aiming for music that’s alive, responsive, and shaped by the moment.
