The Rom Karson Quartet brings together four extraordinary young jazz musicians from Lithuania and Italy, combining virtuosity, creativity, and deep musical expression. They presenting program, “She’s Never Left My Mind”, which blends modern jazz improvisation, original compositions, and cross-cultural influences, promising an evening of captivating, heartfelt performance.
Romualdas Karžinauskas – saxophonist, composer, arranger, and ensemble leader – is one of Lithuania’s most promising young jazz talents. His music combines modern, open approaches with respect for jazz tradition, writing for big bands, chamber ensembles, and solo saxophone. In 2025, Romualdas won the Grand Prix of the 6th National Petras Vyšniauskas Competition, Lithuania’s most prestigious saxophone contest, renowned for its high artistic standard and intense competition. He has performed at major Lithuanian festivals including Kaunas Jazz, Birštonas Jazz, Broma Jazz, and the Klaipėda Castle Jazz Festival, and collaborates widely with international musicians.
Anton Cifirov – pianist and performer – is celebrated for his versatility and musical sensitivity. A graduate of the Klaipėda S. Šimkus Conservatory and a current computer science student at Vilnius University, Antonas masterfully navigates jazz piano and multiple styles. A laureate of international competitions, he has performed at Lithuania’s leading jazz festivals and shared the stage with artists such as Vytautas Grubliauskas, Andrej Chmut, and Nicole Zuraitis.
Giuseppe Lanzo – double bassist – brings creativity, technical mastery, and an adventurous approach to rhythm and harmony. Active on the Italian jazz scene, he has performed at numerous jazz festivals and refined his craft in masterclasses with Dado Moroni, Eddie Gomez, Enrico Pieranunzi, Giovanni Mazzarino, and Joe La Barbera. While exploring various musical styles, his strongest voice emerges in jazz, combining energy, nuance, and improvisational freedom.
Giuseppe De Nisi – drummer and percussionist – combines academic rigor with a constantly evolving artistic vision. A graduate in jazz drums and percussion from Italy, he has studied with Joe La Barbera, Dave Weckl, Jojo Mayer, Diego Piñera, Eddie Gomez, and Nicola Angelucci. Giuseppe’s playing is defined by rhythmic sensitivity, dynamic control, and stylistic versatility, blending jazz with pop/rock and Latin influences. He has performed at festivals in Italy and Lithuania, including Jazz Cellar 11, Muziko Stotis, and Kurpiai Jazz Club, and collaborates widely with local and international artists.
Together, the Rom Karson Quartet presents a rich, dynamic sound that merges original compositions, virtuosic improvisation, and cross-cultural dialogue. Their performance promises a journey through heartfelt melodies, inventive rhythms, and the energy of modern jazz at its finest.
