Introduction to the World of Icons

Join artist, iconologist, and conservator Orest Kormashov for an engaging introduction to the world of Orthodox icons.  The guided tour will be conducted in English.

From childhood, Orest was surrounded by icons from a remarkable collection assembled by his father, Nikolai Kormashov. Today, he dedicates himself to the conservation of icons and to sharing their rich history and meaning with visitors to the Museum of Russian Icons.

In this guided tour, Orest introduces the traditions, symbolism, and artistic beauty of icons in a way that is accessible, inspiring, and full of warmth. No prior knowledge is necessary.
