South of Savoy + Timuti 8| Viljandi Roots Session II

Roots Session is a fresh concert series that showcases roots rock, blues, soul, gospel, folk, and country music from abroad and Estonia. Viljandi Roots Session II leads the way to the legendary book bar Romaan, where the courtyard will host South of Savoy’s only summer concert in Viljandi, which follows with an afterparty with Latin-Americn live band Timuti 8.

The band is preparing for September – their first concert tour in the Faroe Islands and Denmark – for this occasion they invite all music lovers and social summerflies to their concert, which offers hip twisting rock'n'roll, Memphis soul, love songs about meeting and parting, 70s psychedelia, ballads, and contemporary blues for an entire evening.

The band, formed three years ago, has in its young career had its music broadcast on radio stations in five different countries. Other highlights include three concerts at Reykjavík’s Icelandic Airwaves Festival (2024), a five-concert tour in Finland (January 2024), including Pakkasukko Blues & Jazz Festival, performances on the main stage at Augustibluus (2024), Paavli Kultuurivabrik Birthday Festival (2024), PIME Festival (2024), and Õllesummer (2025).

South of Savoy recorded their 10-track debut album in the summer of 2024 at Peeter Salmela’s analog studio, which was released in full on March 21, 2025, and was featured on Estonian national Raadio 2’s album of the week list.

We continue with an exotic afterparty – the band Timuti 8, formed in Tallinn in 2020, whose music gets even the stiffest hips moving. Their energetic and genre-crossing creations blend cumbia, reggae, ska, funk, punk, and more, with a particular focus on Latin American rhythms and a positive vibe. Every performance is like a little trip around the world – rhythmic, passionate, and captivating.
