Iberofest invites you! Ivan Gallego and Maria Rääk have been working together for almost a quarter of a century. Over the years, they have brought several performances to the stage both in Estonia and abroad, primarily in collaboration with Eesti Kontsert and the Spanish Embassy.
Ivan Gallego is a long-time soloist and flamenco ballet choreographer from Madrid. He has performed and taught flamenco in the USA, Canada, Japan, China, Russia, Finland, Egypt and elsewhere, in addition to Spain. He currently works as a choreographer and dancer in his own dance company, NBF Ivan Gallego.
Maria Rääk graduated from Tallinn University with a degree in choreography, studied flamenco at the Madrid Flamenco Center Amor de Dios and various dance schools in Seville and Jerez. She found flamenco through Spanish language studies. She currently works as a choreographer, flamenco teacher and dancer in her own studio ArteFlamenco and gives performances in collaboration with flamenco dancers and musicians from both Estonia and Spain.
Tony de María is one of the most appreciated flamenco guitarists in Finland. Besides accompanying flamenco dancers and singers, Tony composes his own music and also performs as a solo artist, having released the album “Promesa” and five singles.
Ruber Veliz is a singer from Cuba who has studied classical singing and clarinet. He has cultivated various styles such as salsa, bachata, jazz, opera, pop, rock, funk, rap and flamenco. Veliz has participated in various projects both in Cuba and abroad. He currently lives in Tallinn and works as a singer and percussionist.
Adrian Bravo began studying violin at the age of 6. He studied at the Joaquin Turina Conservatory and the Royal Conservatory of Madrid under Professor Joaquin Torre. Adrian is a laureate of the Gold Medal of the European Academy of Arts (2003). Since 2007 he has been a soloist at the Estonian National Opera. In addition Adrian collaborates with various orchestras, chamber ensembles and flamenco musicians.
Iberofest is an annual festival that introduces the colorful culture of Ibero-American countries to Estonian audiences. The festival is organized by the Spanish Embassy in Estonia in cooperation with representatives of various countries and local cultural promoters.
