Florian Fleischer und das Gelbe vom Ei. Fusion of Culture (DE-MX-LV-ES)
Sunday, September 14, 8 p.m. at Philly Joe's Jazz Club
Florian Fleischer und das Gelbe vom Ei is a dynamic international jazz quintet led by Berlin guitarist and composer Florian Fleischer. With musicians hailing from Mexico, Spain, Germany, and Latvia, the band brings a rare blend of cultures, sounds, and improvisational depth to the stage — a collective rooted in modern jazz but always reaching beyond genre boundaries.
Each member is a highly respected artist on the international jazz scene, and together they create a sound that is rich, expressive, and unmistakably their own. Fleischer’s compositions offer space for both lyrical storytelling and fiery interaction, weaving intricate harmonies, melodic clarity, and rhythmic playfulness into a unified and captivating aesthetic.
In recent years, Florian has toured extensively across Germany, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Finland, and the Baltic States with both this quintet and his trio, performing at festivals and clubs known for forward-thinking jazz.
Florian Fleischer und das Gelbe vom Eiis more than a band — it's a meeting of minds, a celebration of international collaboration, and a testament to the power of jazz as a truly global language.
