Led by saxophonist and composer Donatas Petreikis, this quartet awakes their listeners with a powerful and swinging sound. Donatas Petreikis Quartet reunites to bring the music of their well recognized debut album “One Way” (2023) back to the stage, along with some fresh new original pieces.
The Lithuanian composer and saxophone player Donatas Petreikis is currently based in Cophenhagen, Denmark. Donatas plays and tours with bands from the Baltics and Scandinavia, having worked with Rahel Talts Ensamble, Saulius Petreikis World Orchestra, Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble and many more, as well as creating and arranging music for orchestras and smaller combos.
His quartet features legendary musicians from Denmark:
- On the piano is Carl Winther, one of Denmark's most renowned jazz pianists and a respected composer who has gained international recognition by playing with several jazz legends such as Randy Brecker, Jerry Bergonzi and Walt Weiskopf.
- On the drums shines veteran Anders Mogensen, known for his performances with artists such as Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Berg, Joel Frahm and Peter Bernstein.
- On double bass is Jakob Roland, one of the most active and in-demand bassists in Copenhagen.
