The Austrian ensemble HAEZZ creates music that awakens the senses. With its distinctive line-up of trumpet, tenor saxophone, and double bass, the trio brings a rich palette of colours and a unique character to their sound – qualities that have earned them jazz award nominations in both Austria and Germany. The maturity and focus of their compositions speak to musicians who forgo showmanship in favour of clear, confident mastery of their craft.

The trio’s music blends influences from both American and local jazz. Warm chords stand alongside artfully interwoven, contrapuntal strands of lyrical melody. And before long, they are back to breakneck tempos, with all three instruments exchanging rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic roles. Polyphonic ideas meet rhythmic finesse and hints of Central European melody. Tremendous virtuosity shines through again and again, driving this purely acoustic chamber jazz infused with overtones. A joy to listen to.
