The Philly Joe’s Summer Residency programme provides a platform for talented young Estonian artists on the jazz scene! New ensembles, colourful programs and the opportunity to hear jazz and music with its influences from a new perspective on every concert evening - all this is offered by selected artists, week after week throughout the summer.
August's resident is singer-composer Bianca Rantala who will be performing with different projects and collaborators every week. The resident can be heard on Wednesdays throughout the month (06.08, 13.08, 20.08 ja 27.08).

The Bianca Rantala Quintet offers a rich and expressive program of original compositions that blend lyrical melodies, intricate rhythms, and subtle influences from fusion and pop. From intimate ballads to energetic fast-paced jazz, Rantala’s music highlights the group’s dynamic interplay and bold Nordic sound. With top-tier musicians from Finland, they present a fresh and captivating take on the contemporary jazz quintet.
Bianca Rantala is a Estonian-Finnish composer, conductor, and a singer, whose bold and expressive works bridge the worlds of jazz and contemporary music. Known for her dynamic leadership on the podium and her ability to craft intricate, emotionally charged compositions, she brings fresh energy to every ensemble she works with. Her music has been featured at festivals and concerts across Europe, captivating audiences with its depth and innovation.
