Portuguese composer, singer, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist Luísa Sobral is set to grace Tallinn with an unforgettable performance for fans of Portuguese music and bossa nova. Born in Lisbon, singer-songwriter Luísa Sobral began her solo career after graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Her debut album, The Cherry on My Cake (2011), climbed to third place on the Portuguese album charts. She quickly gained international recognition, performing on the legendary music show Later… with Jools Holland and touring with American jazz diva Melody Gardot. In 2017, her delicate jazz ballad Amar pelos dois, written for her brother Salvador Sobral, won the Eurovision Song Contest, bringing her global acclaim. To date, Luísa has released six studio albums, the most recent being DanSando (2022). She has collaborated with renowned producers like Joe Henry (Madonna, Elvis Costello) and Latin Grammy winner Tó Brandileone, and has composed music for celebrated artists such as Ana Moura, António Zambujo, and Mayra Andrade. In addition, Luísa hosts the popular podcast O Avesso da Canção, where she engages in insightful conversations with leading figures in Portuguese music.
