.Contriber & Philly Joe's Tartu
SEPT
Sunday, March 9 at 7:30 PM, in Tartu Kompanii 2, II floor
We invite everyone to an entertainment-meets-self-exploration event format at the .Contriber & Philly Joe’s Tartu, taking place in Tartu, at Kompanii 2, on the second floor.
The evening will feature a performance by the jazz-fusion project SEPT, with Sergei Pedersen and Eeva Trei, and a discussion moderated by a Contriber mentor.
SEPT emerged from the jazz duo of Sergei Pedersen and Eeva Trei, aiming to blend the traditional with the innovative. Pedersen, primarily known as a composer and keyboardist in legendary 80s bands such as Radar, and Trei, whose distinctive alternative style can be heard in the band Neon Fir, began collaborating in 2018 when they met as teacher and student at Otsakool. Years later, they have now released their debut album, Good Luck!, created in collaboration with several esteemed Estonian jazz musicians.
SEPT’s music is a fusion of jazz-funk, soul, and R’n’B, crafting a fairy-tale-like world filled with breathtaking nostalgia and a thirst for adventure.
At .Contriber & Philly Joe’s Tartu club, two missions converge into a shared vision:
Rein Lemberpuu’s passion for passing on Toltec teachings and Reigo Ahven’s dedication to keeping live music alive. The result is a life-affirming event format—music intertwined with engaging discussions. This vision sustains both live music and ancient wisdom, which are becoming increasingly rare in today’s technology-driven world.
