RESIDENT: Vladimir Todurov Quartet. We Love the Funk! + OPEN JAM SESSION • Philly Joe's Summer Residency
RESIDENT: VLADIMIR TODUROV QUARTET. WE LOVE THE FUNK!
Wednesday, 16 July 9 p.m. at Philly Joe's Jazz Club
The Philly Joe’s Summer Residency programme provides a platform for talented young Estonian artists on the jazz scene! New ensembles, colourful programs and the opportunity to hear jazz and music with its influences from a new perspective on every concert evening - all this is offered by selected artists, week after week throughout the summer.
July’s resident is Vladimir (Vova) Todurov whose concerts will take place on Fridays (04.07, 11.07 25.07) and on Wednesday 16.07. Every week you can discover Vova’s projects with different collaborators and themes!
“We Love the Funk!”
The dance floor is open and Vova Todurov quartet invites you to groove to some sweet funk music!
Vladimir (Vova) Todurov is an Estonian younger generation jazz pianist. He has a bachelor’s degree in music pedagogy from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. It was there that he developed his interest in jazz music and began creating his own compositions. Vova is a member of several bands and also often performs as a piano accompanist for soloists, ensembles and choirs. He can also be found behind the piano at Philly Joe's jam sessions, and for this special evening, Vova’s band will open a jam after the concert to keep the funk music going into the late hours!
